The Multidisciplinary Environmental Study Group (GEMA), headquartered at the State University of Maringá, is composed of researchers from the fields of Geography, Geology, and Chemistry. The group is active in teaching, research, outreach, and consulting services in the areas of Geomorphology, Hydrology, Soil Science, Climatology, Geoprocessing, Remote Sensing, Paleontology, Environmental Chemistry, and Geology. Its human resources development includes internships, scientific initiation (undergraduate research), master's and doctoral degrees, and postdoctoral fellowships.
